BlackBerry 6210

The BlackBerry® 6210 Wireless Handheld includes phone, email, SMS, browser and organizer applications in a single wireless device. Plus it features a Java™ development platform.

Size: 4.5 x 2.9 x 0.8 inches / 11.3 x 7.5 x 2.0cm (LxWxD)
Weight: 4.80 oz/136g
Display: High contrast monochrome screen, User selectable font sizes

First impression is that it’s a cute device. It’s slightly shorter, slightly narrower, and slightly thicker than my 6710…oh and it’s metallic blue. The phone button has moved from the side to the top and the keys on the keyboard are slightly larger. The biggest change is the screen which is reduced by one row of icons. (about .75 inches smaller) The exit key, phone key and jog wheel are all a little nicer feel than the 6710.

Unit is fast - syncs perfectly, data access is quick both browsing the web and email send and receive. Don’t expect to browse the web like your computer - you will be seeing the same type of contect that you see on a web-enabled phone - just on a wider page - but for basic data access it works great. The advantage of having calendar, tasks and contacts on hip - and always available - makes this a Palm replacement for you. Once you get the thumbboard down and add some autotext entries - you can keep track of just about everything you HAVE to have - easily and fast.

The 6210 has white backlight as opposed to green. The keys are not see through, the backlight comes around them. The usb port is on the side of the device and is used for syncing as well as charging. Very nice. A cradle is provided but it’s just for show…it does nothing.Like all blackberry devices, the 6210 can be set up with the webclient, the redirector, or the BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server). Nobody can touch this device in this regard…it is simply excellent.

Samsung YP-K3
10 Mar 2010

It was only a matter of time before Samsung put out a speakerless version of the innovative YP-K5 MP3 player. The YP-K3 delivers the goods in an even sexier–if ever-so-slightly bigger–body than the iPod Nano. But it’s priced for the masses at $119 for 2GB and $169 for 4GB, undercutting the iPod’s tag. Samsung says [...]

Blackberry Pearl 8100
09 Mar 2010

The most significant difference with the Pearl compared to other BlackBerry devices though is its size. It measures in at 107 by 50 by 14.5mm and weighs a mere 89 grams, making it one of the lightest PDAs on today’s market. From a physical perspective, everything about the Pearl oozes quality from the ultra sturdy release [...]

Dopod D810
09 Mar 2010

The D810 is a quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900), tri-band 3G (850/1900/2100), GPRS and 3.5G HSDPA capable smart phone. It performs quite well for voice calls, with reasonable in-call quality, but we found the volume is too soft, even at the maximum level. We also noted a slight echo at full volume. As with most smart phones [...]
